For more information give us a call or stop by during our regular business hours: 11 am to 4 pm, Tuesday through Saturday. We are closed on Sundays and Mondays for over-all cleaning and care of the animals and the facility. The Humane Society is closed on most major holidays.

Planned Giving
The Humane Society depends entirely on donations and bequests to provide shelter and medical care to the animals. Please remember the animals when making your will.
Ways to give through wills and trusts:
- You may leave a specific dollar amount to the Humane Society of Highlands County FL
- Designate that a percentage of your estate be given through your will or living trust.
- Give only the remainder, or residue, of your estate—that which remains after bequests to loved ones have been made.
- Leave specific property such as real estate, stocks or other items.
- Ask that funeral donations be given to the Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
An individual may designate that a bequest be used for the general purposes of the Humane Society or it may go to support a specific program.
The following is a suggested form for such a bequest: “I give and bequeath to The Humane Society of Highlands County, a not-for-profit corporation, with office presently located at 7321 Haywood Taylor Blvd., Sebring, FL 33876, the sum of $______, to be used for the accomplishment of its general purposes (or for a specific purpose, as indicated).”

We encourage you to consult with your legal and financial advisors when considering a planned gift. It is a good idea to inform the Humane Society and to provide a copy of the part of the will that pertains to your gift to the organization. This helps the Humane Society to understand and carry through your intended gift. (Please also notify if the gift has been changed or cancelled in subsequent wills).
Be sure to designate Humane Society of HIGHLANDS COUNTY FL - we do not receive any funding from the National Humane Society.
